Rotary Holiday Meeting and Meals on Wheels
Make sure to not miss our last meeting of 2020 which will be held (via Zoom) at noon on Wednesday, December 16.  We have many fun activities planned and we will continue with our long standing tradition of supporting the Meals on Wheels program. We will use the same Zoom link that we have been using this fall and Ulli will send out a email reminder the day before.
 
Make sure to wear a holiday hat or your best holiday sweater!!

Toys for Tots 2020
Again this year, the Rotary Club of Galveston partnered with the Galveston Marine Reserve Unit to receive and distribute "Toys for Tots' for deserving youngsters in our area who might not otherwise have a new toy this holiday season.

Rotary Club of Galveston Donates to the Assistance League of Bay Area
The Rotary Club of Galveston's Galveston Rotary Foundation recently presented a grant for $1,500 to the Assistance League of the Bay Area to help with their Operation School Bell initiative.  Presenting the check on behalf of the Rotary Club of Galveston are from left, Club Executive Secretary, Ulli Budelmann and Club President, Mike Guarino.  Accepting on behalf of the  Assistance League of the Bay Area is Charlene Donovan.  (photo by Robyn Bushong.)
Rotary Club of Galveston Featured on Local Podcast
The Rotary Club of Galveston was featured in a recent episode of the a local Podcast.  Mike Guarino, our Club President, was a guest of Mike Dudas on his podcast call the Scuttlebutt.  Guarino talked about the history of the club, how the club is continuing it's great work during this pandemic and what Rotary means to him personally.  He also highlighted the Toys for Tots toy drive we have coming up on November 20th from 10am - noon at Fisherman's Wharf.   Click on the link below to give it a listen.

Rovin Rotarians Raise $19,000 for Alzheimer's Research
Our Club’s Rovin' Rotarians team participated in the national Walk to End Alzheimer's campaign at the UTMB field track. Our Club more than doubled our $8,000 fundraising goal this year by raising over $19,000. Rotary co-chairs Sally Byrom and Kyle Albright should be congratulated for running a wonderfully successful and inspirational campaign.
