We have missed seeing each of you in-person during lunch. But it has been so great seeing so many of you on our Zoom meetings. We will continue meeting via Zoom until we feel it is safe to come back together. In the meanwhile, please plan to join us for our future Zoom meetings that are listed below.

Walk to End Alzheimer's 2020

Unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions.

Join our Rovin' Rotarian team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease. Together, we can advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer's, and provide programs and support to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.

Our Bay Area/Galveston County walk is set for October 17, 2020.

This year’s event won’t be a large in-person gathering — instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Proper social distancing should be observed.

Because we are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

2020 Scholarship Recipients

Rotary Club of Galveston Foundation Scholarship recipients recognized at club meeting on AUGUST 19, 2020. President-Elect Mary Brechtel introduced and recognized STORM SIMONIN and CALEB SMITH as this year's very deserving scholarship winners. They were each awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship.

In the August 19, 2020 meeting, The Rotary Club of Galveston proudly honored 5 women who have served as our club President.

Rotary Donates to Lighthouse Charity for Hurricane Laura Relief

The Rotary Club of Galveston recently awarded a $1,000 contribution to the Lighthouse Charity Team dedicated to "Hurricane Laura Relief - Food."

Galveston Rotary Foundation Current Grant Recipients

Great work done by our Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Club of Galveston has a Foundation. Members of the Club are elected to the Foundation Board of Directors. During the Rotary year, the Foundation reviews grants that have been submitted by not for profit organizations in the community. In recent years, the average grant awarded by the Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc. has been $1,600.00. Preference is given to projects where Galveston Rotarians are directly involved and for programs and projects that directly serve people in the community.
