PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
REACH
WITHIN TO EMBRACE HUMANITY
I
am honored to be called to serve the Club as President for a second
consecutive year. Your collective and individual support during
my illness was much appreciated and I am looking forward to serving
a full term as President in 2011-2012.
This past year, Neal Nathan, Tom LaRue and Harold Fattig were indispensable
in moving plans and programs forward in my absence. To them, and
to the Club and Foundation boards, I offer my sincere thanks. I
know that the individual Club members join me in this appreciation.
"Reach Within to Embrace Humanity", the theme of 2011-2012
Rotary International President Kalyan Banerjee, calls us to reconsider
the impact that Rotary has on us and that we have on Rotary. We
rarely stop and think about these matters, but the incoming President
calls us to consider what Rotary means, and to reaffirm that in
our daily business and personal lives. It is an especially important
call to action as we approach our Club's centennial, next Rotary
year. A century of 'Service Above Self' is an important thing and
I am certain that the principled dedication to service that has
brought us to this point will remain with us in the coming years.
The 2011-2012 International Theme and our own planning for our celebration
of a century of service in 2012-2013 should lead us as a Club and
as individuals, to a deeper understanding of why we are Rotarians.
Thank you in advance for your continued dedication to and support
of the goals and objective of Rotary.
Bill
McMullen
President
